Greetings from la Artiga, Teruel, 28 July 2016

We are just coming to the end of this years 200 hour Bodhiyoga teacher training. We have returned to la Artiga, a wonderfully remote spot just inside the province of Teruel about one hour and a quarter from Valencia to the North West. This is our 5º edition of the 200 hour training and we have had a full house with 18 students.

First of all I really want to thank everyone involved in this years course. Thanks to all our students for dedicating their time, energy and money to our training. A big thanks to our extraordinary cook Siddhisvari who has been a kind, steady and creative cook thoughout the three weeks. I want to thank our support team of Tina and Kate who helped for the smooth running of our shared living space. Thanks also to Cany and Vicent who brought up fresh food supplies every week and thanks to Fernando, our modest and ever available host.

An important aspect of this years training was the full sized group. From a learning experience this clearly contributed to assisting the process of developing our understanding of the Bodhiyoga approach to Yoga. We worked extensively in various sized groupings, teaching and exploring postures and thereby giving gentle feedback and deepening our knowledge.

All of us are here to learn and the teaching comes clearer every time we present the material. Right from the beginning we asked our students to look at how to bring in the language of Mindfulness into the posture work. Over the three weeks they had the opportunity to run three epic teaching sessions where all 18 students taught all the rest. It was satisfying for me to be a student in the last cycle of three back to back one hour classes. Now they have to set off into the world and begin their own careers. We urge them to come back next year to continue to clarify what we are doing in Mindfulness yoga!

Practicing yoga together, meditating together, learning together, reading poetry to each other before the evening meditations,  eating and sharing our lives we formed a small and mostly harmonious community for the the duration of the course. Now soon to the four winds we go, may we carry some of that peace, harmony and clarity into the world.

Hemos practicado yoga juntos, meditado juntos, aprendido juntos.

Testimonials

"As a long-time yogi having done a lot of classes and self-practice over the years, I got a lot out of the Bodhi Yoga course. It has had a transformative effect on my yoga practice and given me a fuller understanding of what I'm trying to do and achieve in yoga, rather than somewhat mindlessly going through the motions and hoping there'll be some effect. It's also galvanised me to share yoga with others through teaching. I now feel like I have the skills and knowledge to guide others and am looking forward to it. I'd strongly advise others to attend the course if you have an affinity to yoga and the principles of mindfulness. Thanks guys!"
